We're so close to Ft. Sam Houston and downtown San Antonio. It's perfect for those working at Ft. Sam Houston (2.6 mi), attending a conference at the Convention Center (3.6mi) or attending a graduation at Fort Sam Houston (2.6mi), University of the Incarnate Word (2.9mi), or Trinity University (2.0mi). As mentioned, while being here, you'll want to frequent The Pearl, however, you'll also want to visit these places... From our apartment, you can visit The Pearl (.08mi), The Modernist, a midcentury-inspired cocktail bar (.02mi); Botanical Gardens (2.0mi) on Funston, the Witte Museum (1.7mi), the McNay Art Museum on North New Braunfels (3.4mi); there is great BBQ at 'The Smoke Shack' and 'The Pig Pen' with karaoke on Tuesday nights (same owners) both located on Broadway across from the Witte Museum, right next to each other. If you didn't know, 'The Pearl' used to be the old Pearl Brewery. In addition to a whole lot of great shops (delectable bakeries, coffee, clothing, cooking supplies, a wide array of restaurants, etc.), The Pearl also has a farmer's market on Saturdays and Sundays. There at the Pearl, is a wonderful Mexican restaurant called 'La Gloria' that runs along the extension of our San Antonio Riverwalk (you can sit outside along the Riverwalk if the weather permits). Also, if you like sweets, there at The Pearl, you would want to try 'Bakery Lorraine'. 'Best Quality Daughter' serves delicious Asian-American cuisine. 'Down on Grayson', located on the outskirts of The Pearl, is a fabulous & casual, modern-American restaurant serving classic and contemporary dishes. When you're downtown, another fantastic Mexican restaurant is called 'Mi Tierra'. This is one of the most popular attractions when it comes to Mexican food. It not only serves the best food, but there is a wonderful bakery (panaderia) inside (full of the best sweet bread), there is a Mariachi Bar inside and along the back of the restaurant, there is a huge painted mural with many famous Latinos. There is an HEB Central Market grocery store 2.4 mi, down Broadway. Plus, if you're looking for a relaxing massage, or a couples massage, my cousins, Wayne & Margaret, are amazing massage therapists. RUNNING TRAILS Some people have asked about this..but as far as running trails go...at 'The Pearl', you can catch the riverwalk extension and go all the way downtown to Mission Reach Trail. Another is Salado Creek; it goes North up to McAllister Park. Not too far from you is 'Brackenridge Park' and you can run through the 'Japanese Tea Gardens'. GYMS YMCA: If you are a member of the YMCA, it's your lucky day...it's only 1 mi away. IF you're thinking of becoming a member, call them up and ask if you may have a day pass. D.R. Another recommendation: If you're looking for food trucks, 'Besame Bar and Food Truck Park' is very near you on Grayson and there is definitely great Mexican food, etc, there. Their hours are iffy sometimes so you may want to look them up first or give them a call. -FREE Parking: you may park where you wish in the parking lot. -There's a courtyard, open outdoor space, with picnic tables & benches on property; very nice! -King bed w/memory foam mattress, super comfy -Walk-in closet with Hangers -Iron and Ironing Board -Central Air/Heat, Bathtub/Shower, Bed linens, Carbon Monoxide Detector, Ceiling fans, Cleaning products, Coffee maker with Coffee, Cooking basics (Pots & pans, oil, spices, etc), Baking sheets, Dining Table, Dishes & Silverware (Plates, Cups, Bowls, Glasses, Wine Glasses, Wine bottle opener), Paper towels, Essentials (bath soap, bath towels, toilet paper, shampoo, conditioner), Hair dryer, First aid kit, Fire extinguisher. -There's an INSTANT POT, Microwave, Toaster, Blender. -There are board games, so you won't get bored. 🥱 -There's a dedicated workspace/office area/desk & miscellaneous office supplies. -There are extra pillows & blankets. -The Laundry Room is very close by; it has a keyless entry code.
