The house is located 4 miles from the entrance of the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. http://www.nps.gov/havo/index.htm
The park offers wonderful hikes, volcano viewing, lava viewing, tours, and a restaurant/bar. Its very easy to drive around the Big Island. Several farmer markets and beautiful things to see!
The house has everything you need for a vacation! The house is furnished (2 beds, couch, chair, TV, etc.); all bedding and bath towels are brand new. It is 2 bed (queen)/2 full bath, small reading room, full kitchen (full fridge/stove/sink/counter space), outside patio with table/4 chairs and a propane BBQ, outdoor fire pit, and cable and internet are provided. It even has an outdoor shower but both bathrooms also have a shower, one bathtub. Other items available for use: 2 hammocks (my favorite), 4 beach towels, 2 bikes, guide books, reading books, games, kitchen dishes, coffee maker, and toaster oven.
The closest Airport is Hilo (approximately 35 minutes away); rental car services available. Kona is approximately 3 hours away. Its best to grocery shop in Hilo as the little town of Volcano has limited supplies.

Protect Yourself
To ensure your online rental search is a positive experience, be sure to follow a few basic
guidelines:
Avoid unusual forms of payment. Never wire funds via Western Union, Moneygram,
or any other wire service. Wiring money is the same as sending cash - once you
send it, you have no way to get it back.
Don't send money to someone you've never met in person for an apartment
you haven't seen. If you can't visit an apartment or house yourself, ask
someone you trust to go and confirm that it's for rent. In addition to setting
up a meeting, do a search on the landlord and listing. If you find the same ad
listed under a different name, that's a clue it may be a scam.
Never provide your financial information (bank account number, social security number,
credit card number, eBay/PayPal info, etc.).
Call the property manager / landlord owner and ask questions regarding the property
such as how long they have owned it, recent maintenance, and request references from
previous tenants. You should request a rental agreement or a printed list for your
obligations as a renter and review carefully.
