Offutt is one of the most rewarding assignments you'll have. Offutt’s diverse missions and global responsibilities put it on the cutting edge of the Air Force’s transformation. Each branch of the US military is represented among the approximately 12,000 military and federal employees assigned here. Offutt is a beautiful community situated near the Missouri River in the rolling hills of southeastern Nebraska.

Offutt employs around 11,000 people, including approximately 1,500 civilians, making it one of the largest employers in the Omaha metropolitan area; as nearly 200 facilities on base, plus over 1700 Privatized Housing units; Encompasses around 4,000 acres of land; Has a total economic impact of nearly $1 billion yearly on the local communities; Is big business! As you can see, you have been assigned to one of the largest and most important military bases in the United States. You and your family will be fortunate to experience one of the most phenomenal community-base relationships in the Air Force.

Finding the Base

Take Interstate 80 to US Highway 75 South, the Kennedy Freeway to Bellevue. Go south approximately six miles and exit at Nebraska Highway 370. Turn left and to the second exit (Offutt AFB). Turn right off the exit, get into the left lane and turn into the Kenney Gate (with all the flags).
